Perched on the edge of Wimbledon’s beautiful Cannizaro Park in southwest London, Cannizaro House is an elegant country house hotel with a 300-year history and four stars to boot. With 2 AA Rosettes under its belt, the modern British restaurant at Cannizaro House is set in the hotel's historic dining room - decorated with whimsical patterned wallpaper and regal high-backed chairs - and is a justifiably popular place for business lunches, afternoon tea, romantic tables a deux and wedding receptions. Cannizaro House has a sense of retro grandeur, and the Gatsby-esque terrace overlooking the park is perfect for fancy pre-dinner mojitos. The modern British menu is influenced by organic, seasonal and locally sourced produce, all of which head chef Christian George is passionate about. It changes regularly, but you might find dishes like Cornish crab and cognac bisque with crayfish, avocado and coriander cress; or slow-cooked belly and tenderloin of Wiltshire pork with paprika crackling, mustard mash and apple jus.

We had a lovely evening at Cannizaro House in Wimbledon. We had a drink in the bar before our meal and although we had booked a table to for 8 and did not sit down at the table until half 8, we were not rushed at all. The food was consistently good throughout and the puddings in particular were excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had a toptable voucher which brought the cost down but we would definitely go back for a special occasion.
Cannizaro House is a lovely hotel and I often come here for drinks in the summer. I have never eaten here before and found service was very good and when dining on their 'simply wine and dine' menu, excellent value for money. I look forward to returning, though do wish they might at least have a couple of vegetarian options.
Really lovely evening - six of us were there to celebrate my other half's birthday and they really treated us so well. Food was great and the chef came out to check on us, which was nice. Will definitely return!
Cannizaro House - Wimbledon Went here hoping to use the £40 voucher we had purchased previously. They were renovating their kitchen and told us that we couldn't use the voucher as they were only running a limited 3-course menu, and our voucher was only valid for a la carte. This was disappointing but we stayed for dinner anyway - food was very good and quite reasonable for a 2/3 course. I would definitely go back (we'll have to in order to use voucher!).
