The Opera House is a great venue for a quiet lunch amongst the hurley burly of Covent Garden

Lunch just before Christmas when there was a matinee performance - we were not attending the matinee and service improved once those who were going got their food. Food overall ordinary, the set menu should have made it easier to control quality but the main course - haddock - was way overcooked and the rest was ok. Good ambience in a great location.

Nice secret place but rather full of pensioners! Very nice food, simple set menu and good service plus lovely views of Covent Garden. Good if you want something a bit more unusual with a client.

The Amphitheatre restaurant at the Royal Opera House may be a bit tricky to find if you don't know the geography of the ROH ) enter by the box office not the main entrance and take the stairs and then escalator up) but you are rewarded with a good value lunch (again), terrific views over Covent Garden and a pleasant and sophisticated place to eat. It's a great place for a business lunch - room between tables so you can talk with reasonable privacy) and because it's not packed you aren't rushed.
