The George
About The George
Just off London’s Liverpool Street, stunning pub-restaurant The George is situated in the glamorous 5 star Andaz Hotel. Original features are found across every inch of The George, with its carved pillars and ceiling, stone mullion windows, gilted crests and low hanging medieval candelabra style lighting. It’s the sort of style that suits perfectly the City crowd that drinks and dines here through lunch breaks, after a hard day at the office and while meeting clients and colleagues on the clock. Yet the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of The George makes it equally popular with arty Shoreditch types, tourists seeking a real slice of London and footie fans too – this is among the very few pubs in the area showing live games. Eleven draught lagers and ales whet the palate while the menu here at The George features favourite English pub grub classics done really well, using quality ingredients sourced from top producers and cooked with care and creativity.

Good food and very attenttive staff.
I booked The George last minute for lunch for myself and a colleague in the City of London. The best way to describe the George is as a nice pub. It's very pub-esque inside, a bar, tables with chairs and stools, but it is table service and the whole place it done out very nicely. The was a good selection on the menu on prices were very reasonable. They were also very accomodating to the specific requests of my colleague. I recommend the Club Sandwich which contained literally everything!
The George - Andaz Hotel London - friendly service in an 'high-end' styled pub. You're not there for the food, but for the atmosphere. Nearly all male business clientel during the day.
Incredibly rare hamburger - not nice.
The George has a back room for people who have made reservations - the main bar area also has a few tables available in what is more like a pub atmosphere. The back room is relatively small (10 / 12 tables?) and basic in terms of there being wooden tables/chairs (semi-pub atmosphere). The service though was very efficient and the staff very friendly and pleasant. This is a restuarant which is not expensive and therefore in the City you can get value for money.
