Botanist On The Green

About Botanist On The Green

Horticulture loving hipsters and in-the-know Richmond regulars all love The Botanist on the Green – a cosy gastropub and restaurant located in the middle of Kew Gardens. Star location aside, this artsy local is filled with quirky furniture and laid back locals, and the modern English menu is filled with pub classics such as the baked camembert with plum chutney and raisin bread; the slow-roasted belly of Suffolk pork with new potatoes and cider sauce; and the toffee and apple brioche pudding. We love everything from the comfy sofas stacked with bright cushions to the retro lemon yellow wallpaper and the potted palms. Ideal for lazy Sundays, The Botanist is one of our favourite pub-meals in town.

Dinner at The Botanist, Kew. Pub was great - lovely beers made on the premises. Lively atmosphere in the bar. Restaurant area less attractive. It lacked much ambiance and was a little soul less. The food was ok - nothing amazing. Out beef pie was quite wet and sloppy, and lacked flavour. It was all quite avergae, although the service was great. A bit disappointing.

What a find! Great pub, lovely atmosphere and yummy food! Filled with candles making very romantic and relaxed and it has it's own brewery so it's also pretty cool. Perfect date pub. A real gem and a great find - will definately go back!

The Botanist on The Green, Kew Green, London. I had the soup of the day which was a perfect homemade soup, with lovely crusty thickly sliced toasted white bread, followed by beer battered fish with homemade chips, which were really tasty. Others in our party had garlic mushrooms starters, or chorizo and tomato starters, and main courses were beef and ale pies and a burger. All raved about the flavours and generous portions. No room for desert! All in all great service and excellent food!

We live in the Kew area, so have been wanting to try 'The Botanist'... first impressions were excellent given they have their own micro-brewery. The bar staff were attentive and the range exceeded expectation. We had the camembert to share, followed by the sea bass and the pork belly. I highly recommend the pork belly.
