For anybody who knows and loves Syon Park, The Capability restaurant at the London Syon Park Waldorf Astoria Hotel is an absolute must visit. With its menu boasting vegetables, fruit and herbs grown on the famous park itself, The Capability is very much of its place, providing all the beauty and gentle glamour of the Duke of Northumberland’s ancestral home but in the contemporary setting of a high class hotel dining room. In the dining room, low panelled ceilings, comfortable leather upholstered seating and wood clad pillars give The Capability a distinctive modern art deco look. Out on the terrace, with its 180 year old bonsai tree meanwhile afternoon teas are enjoyed al fresco. Rustic and seasonal, The Capability’s menu, overseen by Head Chef Neil Thrift, captures the history and classicism of Syon Park as well as the Waldorf Astoria brand. Produce is sourced from throughout the UK for use alongside those ingredients grown in the park and used in re-imagined classic dishes served alongside a choice of quality wines selected by Sommelier Romain Columbi.

London Syon Park - Very quiet when we were there, think we were the only table (late afternoon). The main tea menu not really suitable for children, but the staff were very helpful to help us find alternatives. Children set menu quite good value - 2 courses for £10 or 3 for £15. Generous portions for the children's menu.
I was expecting The Capability to be THE NEXT great restaurant, but it has a long way to go. Sadly it has the feel of a hotel restaurant (you can almost picture people eating their eggs!). Glassware and table decor on the tables look nice though - loved the plates. Great service from Giovanni - major asset. Food was rather average and overpriced, nothing "wow" - especially a weird oily pasta (allegedly with walnuts, but all I saw was tomatoes). But cheeseboard was good, and a great wine list.
I visited The Capability for my son's birthday and we all loved the restaurant. Service was warm and friendly and the food was wonderful. The menu is extensive enough to satisfy most people as is the wine list and they have wines at all price points though the better wines are quite extensive. The only slight issue that we had was that out Irish coffees took so long to arrive that we cancelled them. Even with this, I would highly recommend.
The Capability London Syon's food was lovely, We went on a Wed so was very quiet, very modern and well lit which didnt make it very romantic for my husbands birthday. It is more for business people who were there for lunch or for those staying overnight at hotel like us. Service was fast, staff were very polite and helpful. Would def eat there again we really enjoyed their food.
capability @Wardorf syon park. good restaurant, I think the food will be even nicer if less spicies/salt etc were involved. service is good when restaurant isn't busy.
