Walluc Bistro

About Walluc Bistro

Cheese-lovers from far and wide will adore this secret little Savoyarde restaurant which is tucked away on Redchurch Street, a cobblestoned laneway just behind the intersection of Bethnal Green Road and the Shoreditch High Street. Popular with hipsters on a budget and lovers of good Franco-Italian fare, Walluc Bistro is a riot of Alpine charm from the mustard coloured walls and beamed ceilings to the pots of sunflowers and strings of onions hanging overhead. The Walluc Bistro fondues are epic, and we also adore the raclette cheese boards and gigantic servings of pasta which easily feed two. Not for the faint of heart - or the lactose intolerant – Walluc Bistro is a perfect spot for cosy gatherings and celebrations.

We loved this intimate little bistrot. Great vibes and simple, fun menu for cheese lovers. But 54 pounds for some cheese and salami and wine for two people perhaps is a little overpriced. Cards are not accepted so go with enough cash.

Very mixed feelings about whether i would go back. Fondue was great, as was the chocolate desert (only desert available, and apparently we took the last two). Service was extremely slow once the restaurant was full, only 3 waiters, who i think may also have been cooking?? they were very friendly though, and gave us a free shot of some herbal liquor at the end of the meal. It was also very cold, only electric heaters dotted around the place. It certainly has potential as the food was good.

Had a lovely meal at Walluc Bistro- it was very quiet for a Friday night (recommend going a bit later in the evening for a bit more atmosphere- say 9 or 10pm). The food was simple, but nice and affordable!

Wonderfully atmospheric and romantic. We didn't venture beyond the cheese (which was lovely). Be warned though, it's cash only.
