Il Bacio
About Il Bacio
Born from a desire to bring traditional Italian food to London, Il Bacio restaurant in Highbury is a restaurant with a particular focus on the cuisine of Sardinia. A modern, light filled space, Il Bacio is a glass fronted dining room with an airy, gallery vibe to it, the simplistic furnishings and clean styling creating a real feeling of space and a chilled out atmosphere. The ‘mesmerising flavours of the beautiful island of Sardinia’ is the inspiration behind Il Bacio’s menu, and indeed the kitchen team put a great deal of passion in to their cookery, taking the best of their homeland and bringing it to the British capital in a comprehensive menu of pasta, risotto, meat, fish and salad dishes with seafood a particular specialty. Also a pizzeria, Il Bacio offers its guests traditional Italian pizzas topped with the old favourites and with Sardinian informed ingredients not so often seen in your typical pizza joint. Il Bacio’s wine list is unusual and varied, providing guests with some of the finest vintages from Italy and Sardinia alike.

It was a little unnerving that the staff took a long time to seat us. They appeared to have lost the booking. Being the closest decent restaurant to The Emirates just before a match the place was soon heaving. But the service was swift and friendly and the food was pretty good.
Had excellent (and huge) pizzas served with Italian charm. Spaghetti Bolognaise was disappointing however....
Il Bacio is perhaps the closest decent restaurant to The Emirates so was a natural choice for us following the game against Aston Villa. The staff were very polite and helpful and the ambience was quite spacious and relaxed. One of the party thought the menu was limited but we all found things we could enjoy beyond the pizza and pasta. The house red at £13.50 went down OK. We liked that they brought bread with oil and vinegar as soon as we sat down.
Slow service let's the place down, but the pizza's are fab.
Used to be one of my favourite italian restaurant however with the new management the food is not the same and seems they are saving money in the quality of food.
