Café Saffron

About Café Saffron

Craving curry in Clerkenwell? Head for Café Saffron on Aylesbury Street where an expert team of chefs serve authentic dishes from all over the Indian subcontinent. The friendly service and relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for a quick lunch, dinner after work or a full-on feast before a night out in nearby Old Street. The menu includes lesser known dishes from Goa, Chennai and Bangladesh – all cooked to traditional recipes using the freshest ingredients. The grilled tandoori dishes are light and full of flavour but we recommend ordering out of your comfort zone and trying the chef’s specialties. Don’t miss the fragrant Goan fish curry or the fiery chicken Xacutti cooked with roasted spices and coconut milk. We know you’ll be back more than once!

We ate at the Cafe Saffron on Aylesbury Street, Clerkenwell. It was a really lovely meal with some different Indian dishes that we hadn't heard of before. Despite being quite busy service was good and efficient, portions were well sized, tasted good and we thought reasonably priced. A really good value meal in a vibrant area (Clerkenwell green) and we would definately visit again.

Went to Saffron in Clerkenwell with our sons to celebrate husband's birthday. Food was very good indeed, although could perhaps have been a little hotter (as in hot/cold NOT chillies!). Service was faultless. Would go again.
