Maison Touareg
About Maison Touareg
For a spot of urbanised, Saharan-themed socialising in the middle of Soho, this stylish North African restaurant and bar provides the perfect mise-en-scène for pre-theatre soirees and raucous evening meals. Located on the corner of Greek Street and Old Compton Street, Maison Touareg has a candles-and-cushions Moroccan-style interior with low tables and lanterns, and downstairs there is a basement bar perfect for pre-dinner cocktails. The menu – prepared by Lebanese and Moroccan chefs – comes with a side-order of belly-dancing and shisha-smoking, and favourite dishes include the lamb tagine, the chicken pastilla’s flavoured with honey and cinnamon, and the cous cous served with sweet chutney.

You get a good welcome at Maison Touareg and it is an inviting place for a meal. It is also good to see a wide range of meals on the pre-theatre menu. Starters were standard Mediterranean but cooked well and for mains we both had Tangines. The Lamb one was good and the Chicken one was OK but slightly spoilt by olives that were too bitter for our taste. We tried the Moroccan red wine which was ideal for a very cold night.
Great location, fantastic North African interiors and good food. All the ingredients for a great meal...
This was my 2nd visit to Maison Touareg & it was as lovely as I remembered. We were met by smiling staff at the door, swiftly seated at a quiet table as requested and handed the drink and food menus. Our lovely waitress recommended a really good value wine which we enjoyed. We opted for the set 'Berber' 3 course meal which worked out to be more cost effective than ordering the same meals without the 'deal'. Great service, lovely food, decor attracive & overall a truly good experience. Back soon!
Nice venue, service and atmosphere. Alas, the food is pretty average and therefore, seems a little on the pricey side.
Went to Maison Tauareg for a stag do. We opted for the set menu Good venue but let down by not enough food being served and us having to order extra meat from the main menu. Friendly staff but the food let it down. Bit of a shame.
