Manicomio Restaurant

About Manicomio Restaurant

Manicomio Restaurant in Chelsea in smartest London is an authentic, regional Italian restaurant in a lovely urban setting in one of the capital’s most stylish neighbourhoods. Tucked away amidst the honey-coloured brick and stone of the restored Duke of York’s Square just off Sloane Square, Manicomio has a fabulous heated patio covered with market umbrellas and overhung with mature trees. This is the place where le tout Chelsea meets for coffees and suppers and lingers over family Sunday lunches while the children storm around on the pedestrianized pavement. The menu is rustic, unfussy Italian representing the regions with simple dishes made from ingredients specifically sourced and imported from the mother country. All home-made meat, fish, poultry, pasta and risotto dishes change seasonally, accompanied by an all-Italian wine list. Well-heeled locals pack out the terrace, though the interior is just as lovely, a mix of sleek red leather banquettes, exposed brick and creamy walls. This is Chelsea destination dining.

Manicomio Chelsea London Had great evening last night. 5 of us - 3 English and 2 Dutch - We shared a couple of antipasti platters and then 2 of us had the beef with truffle ravioli which was absolutely delicious and the others enjoyed fish and pasta, all of which were lovely. We also had some very good wine. The service was good and friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant nice and lively without being too noisy. We will definitely return.

My friend and I had supper here last night to celebrate her recent promotion. We both chose the same red mullet dish which was excellent however we were not expecting it to be delivered 'tempura' style. Perhaps we both misread the menu. The sides were generous enough and the pumpkin was delicious (though we couldn't find the chestnut mentioned on the menu). The service was quick, pleasant and efficient and with just the right amount of interaction. Bill £80 for main, one prosecco and coffee.
