Locanda Ottoemezzo
About Locanda Ottoemezzo
The owners of Locanda Ottoemezzo Italian restaurant in London’s Kensington, just a few moments’ walk from the High Street, are film aficionados extraordinaire. In particular, their admiration of Federico Fellini’s masterpiece 8 ½ has inspired them to name their delight restaurant after it and to decorate the interior with 8 1/2 – themed details. The general vibe of this charming and accomplished neighbourhood restaurant is vibrant and warm and full of colour with collectors’ details like rare LPs, books, instruments and a precious 1963 poster of the film. Yet there’s nothing gimmicky about Locanda Ottoemezzo. Food, service, quality and style are the focus here and you can always expect a delightful dining experience. The perfect house risotto is always on the menu here served with a theatrical flourish from a rind of parmesan. Locanda Ottoemezzo’s fillet of beef in salt crust with aromatic thyme, rosemary and red wine served with wild mushrooms is a favourite, too. Wines and service are exemplary.

A great evening; delicious goats cheese starter with home made foccacia bread and two suptious mains, homemade pasta with monkfish and pasta with veal ragu. Passionatly Italian and authentic with charming staff, like stepping into La Dolce Vita.
Charming place in a quiet area of London. Great food and service. I had the goat cheese starter and pappardelle ragout for the main course. Both were absolutely delicious. The tiramisu was heavenly. Would come again and again.
Very good food and good service. My guests were impressed.
Locanda Ottoemezzo has quite a romantic feel with the dark walls and candle lighting. The food is fresh and tasty, staff friendly and extras a nice touch (small canape/bread/cantucci biscuits at the end of the meal). The risotto is one of their classic dishes brought to the table in a parmesan rind - delicious and creamy but slightly al dente. Only let down is the slightly unkept toilet but that aside, I will be back.
I went to Locanda Ottoemezzo in Kensington with friends for a get together before Christmas. We had a slight panic as when we got there they did not have our booking on that day but they had it for the next day. It was very busy and luckily there was a cancellation so we managed to get but wasn't very happy. The waiter was very accomodating and apologetic and managed to get us in thankfully. The food was very good and relaxed atmosphere even though very busy and would definitely return.
