Halal Restaurant
About Halal Restaurant
The oldest Indian restaurant in East London, the Halal Restaurant opened its doors here in E1 way back in 1939. Surviving wave after wave of Indian restaurant revolutions, seeing off competition from fashionable new competitors every time, Halal continues to delight its customers with its great service, unpretentious styling and delicious Asian food. Just a stone’s throw from Aldgate station in a Grade II Listed building, the Halal Restaurant attracts a wide-ranging crowd of curry lovers, from trendy students to fresh-from-work businessmen fully suited and booted. This wide appeal is no surprise, the restaurant’s ethos of simplicity, service and affordability really will appeal to everybody who visits. While the black and white décor makes for a comfortable, easy to look at space, the food is more eye catching, including all your classic Indian curry house favourites as well as a fine collection of signature dishes and some of the most tempting old-style Indian desserts in the area.

Great Resturant - however very tight. My colleague who i was with could hardly move and the man behind made it very difficulty to sit comftable.
Halal restaurant was a charming, no frills restaurant. Great food and great service. Not fancy but the food was great.
Good as ever and still the best in the area by a distance.
We ate at Halal Restaurant, London on a Tuesday lunchtime. Service was attentive. King prawn Karahi was delicious. Will definitely return.
Halal Restaurant off Alie Street in London. Monday lunchtime, fairly quiet. Had complimentary samosas with our poppadoms, so off to a good start. Main meals were very good, my Karai Ghosht was just right. Naan's were fresh. Service was attentive. All in all an excellent meal and great value for money.
