Toptable says about Saffron

Located in Courtlands Drive in Watford, Saffron is a popular and sophisticated Indian restaurant serving unusual regional dishes alongside classic curries. The traditional interior, with crisp white tablecloths, dark wooden chairs and white walls decorated with Indian wooden carvings and artworks, is busy with couples and groups in the evenings. Signature dishes include the palak pakodi chat – crunchy and flavoursome spinach fritters tossed in onion, tomato, chilli date and tamarind chutney; Tandoori king prawns coated in yoghurt and spices; and the popular peri peri murgh – pan-fried chicken marinated with spicy Goan peri peri masala and topped with flamed onions, tomatoes and chillies.

Saffron is a great little restaurant and the service is really good. It was my birthday and our large group were given the whole of the upstairs floor to ourselves! Well worth a visit for a tasty curry.

Saffron is a no-frills sort of place with friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Having worked in the Brick Lane area for five years I can honestly say it's one of the best curry houses on the street. The food is great but what's best is the price - popadums, starter, curry, naan and rice for under £12 - it's simply amazing.
