The Samuel Pepys

About The Samuel Pepys

It’s hard to find a stylish and reliable restaurant or bar along the banks of the Thames that is suitable for everything from cocktail dates and dinner with out-of-town guests to business dining. The Samuel Pepys is perfect for any occasion, and the chic warehouse interior and sweeping views of the London are the perfect backdrop to an icy glass of sauvignon blanc in summer or a hearty shiraz in the wintertime. The menu at Samuel Pepys is a classic collection of gourmet gastropub meals, pizzas and home-made puddings - don’t miss the goat’s cheese pizza with caramelised onions, toasted pine nuts and courgettes, and the Cumberland sausages with creamy mash and home-made onion gravy.

Usually a good restaurant with a pub feel, but was disappointing today. Firstly, did not get the 'basic' fish and chips as it was not available, and then the desert came after the tea and coffee. The order had more of salad than the fish! Finally the service was quite poor as well. Either the staff was too tired or unduly busy with the big group that had landed up or they have had a change in staff!!

Great lunch venue close to the office without being too over the top. Prices are reasonable and service efficient.

What a surprise, we weren't expecting such an awesome pub/ restaurant, with balcony's overhanging the Thames with beautiful views across South Bank. We both had pizza's, which were delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely go back. Ideal place to catch up with friends after work!!
