Toptable says about Mon Plaisir
In days gone by, Mon Plaisir in Monmouth Street was frequented by a slighty louche artistic crowd and it claims to be London's longest surviving French restaurant. Mon Plaisir represents an oasis of old Covent Garden amidst the tourists and chain stores. Efficient waiters, consistently good trad french fare and still one of the best attracting everyone from tourists to celebs.

We went to Mon Plaisir for pre-theatre meal. The restaurant looks like a Parisian brassiere with nice low key ambience. We were ask when we were seated which time we are leaving - which should've been 19:15. From there onwards it all fell apart. We had to ask our waiter to take our orders, we had to ask for the entree and by 19:05 we had to ask where our main course is. The food was good but the confit of duck was very small for the price and we had to run to catch our show. Not to recommend.
again a very good meal with colleagues to discuss informal business
another brilliant evening- the French staff are so warm and welcoming and the food as always is brilliant. The pre-theatre menu is such a good value- we'll definitely be coming back again soon!
Having booked Mon Plaiser for after theatre menu we arrived to find that we were entitled to a free glass of champagne and a free glass of wine with our meal. That together with a delicious 3 course meal for $15 made it not only one of the most pleasurable of recent restaurant visits but also by far the most economical. Brilliant.
Mon Plaisir is a very quaint restaurant. Typical French dishes, well cooked and served. Good service. Many people (in fact the majority) were French customers which has to be a good sign. Perhaps slightly on the expensive side considering the simplicity of the meals and restaurant itself but I would not rule out a return visit .
