Toptable says about Cafe Rouge
Tucked away inside the Victoria Place shopping centre on Buckingham Palace Road, Café Rouge boasts an enviable central London location. This popular chain of French cafés – with their signature maroon and cream colour scheme and wicker furniture - has become as much a part of the British landscape as hedgerows and chippies. The retro-Parisian mise-en-scène, excellent selection of coffees and croissants and the cosy atmosphere make Café Rouge the perfect spot for perusing the morning papers, sneaky chocolat-chaud-and-cake dates and discreet working lunches. The Frenchified food and wine menus include everything from croques and Kir Royales to steak frites and syrah, and we highly recommend the garlic and thyme infused half roast chicken served with French fries, watercress and beurre maison.

Cafe Rouge Victoria is very handy for pre or after theatre dinner. It was ideally located as we had my elderly mother with us and didnt want to walking far. The best advantage was being able to book a table for 6 as the ones outside the station and near to the Apollo would not take a booking on saturday. The menu suits everyone from old to young and you know what you are going to get. Good value and nice food. Only downside was sat under very noisy airconditiong unit.
We had a good meal at Cafe Rouge, the service was a bit slow, particularly towards the end of the evening but other than that it was pretty efficient.
The food was lovely - had the quiche and it was a nice atmosphere! We also got a great deal with the 2for1 voucher at the moment!
My sister and i went to Cafe Rouge Victoria as we knew what to expect food wise. Food was fine and service is fine as long as you are early. We were there at 5.30pm for a bite to eat before Wicked, which works out fine with location. Definitely not a date venue as the restaurant is set in a shopping centre.
Most chains in the Victoria area seem to be pretty good - probably due to large number of offices in the area. Cafe Rouge is not normally a top choice of ours but in this instance it provided reliable tasty breakfast fare in a pleasant setting. Worth booking for a breakfast as there are very few other restaurants providing breakfast in the area unless going for a hotel one.
