Café Montpeliano

About Café Montpeliano

Café Montpeliano restaurant in London’s shopping mecca is the younger, quicker sibling of glamourous Ristorante Montpeliano around the corner, a tremendous spot for a quick meal and some serious people-watching in starry Knightsbridge. Not a stone’s throw from Harrods, Armani, and the delights of Beauchamp Place, Café Montpeliano is a casual Italian brasserie. Fabulous-looking clientele – and some tourists – nosh out on starter of carpaccio Cipriani, pasta of tortelloni with cream and rosemary, main course of steak Diana with vegetables, and dessert of tiramisu. The décor harks back to the glory days of la dolce vita. The pavement tables are molto populare. Great coffee.

Lovely atmosphere, huge portions of food but not great quality. Has become more of a tourist destination these days.

Good food and good service. Portion size is bordering on too big but that's not a complaint. Could do with a bit of an update. Good atmosphere and I would recommend for a chilled meal.

Cafe Montpeliano has a decent menu choice, food good without being spectacular. Staff very helpful and enthusiastic. Great for vibe and people watching, wouldn't make the effort specifically for the food.

The restaurant is in a very good position. Having eaten at Montpeliano I was confident it would be good. The food was not disappointing, but the lunch was spoiled by the loud music blaring out of the speakers which were very close to where we were sitting. We had to ask that the volume be turned down - three times. Also, the large flat screen TV standing on the bar did nothing to promote an atmosphere of intimate Italian dining. Sadly would not recommend unless TV/Music were removed.
