Toptable says about Camden Brasserie
Hot new restaurants might spring up in Camden like snowdrops in spring, but the family-run Camden Brasserie has been serving satisfied celebrity and local customers for a quarter of a century. Unusually, the menu's barely changed in all that time - whenever old dishes are replaced with new, the regulars complain! They love the pommes frites (for which the place is now famous) and rare Aberdeen Angus steak - a favourite of Alistair Campbell. Classic, in-demand fish dishes include grilled tuna, and oven-cooked halibut. And the risotto's amazing - made to a wonderful old-fashioned recipe.

The food was very good - highly recommend the goats cheese & squash starter. The service was very friendly and speedy. Arrived at 6.30pm on a Tuesday and we were the first in the restauarnt but once people steadily arrived the ambience picked up.
Having read great things about the Camden Brasserie, we were looking forward to enjoying a delicious late Sunday afternoon roast... but as it turned out, the choice of roast was only pork or beef (no lamb/chicken/veggie); the Yorkshire puds were stale; the potatoes were dry; the broccoli was rather undercooked (not just "al dente"); and the roast itself was ok but nothing special. We even noticed that 3x25cl glasses of wine are cheaper than a 75cl bottle - bizarre!! All rather disappointing.
Always reliable. Good, tasty food at a reasonable price.
food very tasty and the pork was an unusual and wonderful combinations of flavours. great to share a naughty dessert. lovely anniversary and birthday combined treat out especially the 20% off going at 7pm and booking on here, thank you!
I live in Camden and have always wanted to try the Camden Brasserie. Last night, myself and eight friends went there to celebrate my birthday. It was fantastic. I could have tried everything on the menu... the food is simple, yet delicious and it has a very cosy atmosphere. The only downside is the restaurant has terrible acoustics making it a little hard to hear people in the very busy dinning room. All my guests said they'd love to go back, and I agree!
