As usual, Cantina del Ponte was lovely. Attentive staff, excellent menu, exceptional value for money.
Great location - liked the deal of 2 courses with a Prosecco, but the portion sizes were not very comparable. Friendly staff but a little on the slow side. Would be fine for a leisurely lunch
I have been to Cantina Del Ponte three or four times and I have to say that it is a shadow of it's former self. I remember my first visit I was had a lamb ragu that oozed authenticity and was full of flavour. This time I am afraid the food felt sterile and lacked flavour and imagination. The views are amazing and the overall it’s a nice enough meal but not what it used to be and not what you would expect for a restaurant in that location.
We booked a table at Cantina del Ponte last minute for a work colleagues birthday. I mentioned on the booking it was for a birthday and they made our lunch a very pleasant experience. The food was good, although very oily, and the waiting staff were excellent.
The most inpressive thing about Cantina del Ponte, London Bridge is the staff. They are very welcoming and even though our waitress didn't know some things about the menu she was happy to go and find out. The food is quite pricy in comparison to the portions. There is also a lack of sides that come with the main dish so you are forced to buy sides as an extra which was annoying. For instance, the breaded chicken dish came on its own, having to order potatoes and salad as extra's.
