One Twenty One Two restaurant is a glamorous fine dining destination in London’s Royal Horseguards Hotel, in the Old Scotland Yard building. The AA London Hotel of the Year 2010-2011, the Royal Horseguards, overlooks the River Thames towards the London Eye; make the most of the view on the One Twenty One Two al fresco terrace. Named after the famed Scotland Yard telephone number, Whitehall 1212, this classically decorated, cosily sumptuous restaurant could have easily stepped straight out of a noir thriller, with its expensive look and understated ambience. The crowd at One Twenty One Two attract politicos and policy makers from the corridors of Whitehall, as well as gourmands from around the world intent on sampling the modern British AA Rosette menu. The high quality dishes are made using the best ingredients the UK has to offer – south coast diver-caught scallops, Dublin Bay prawns and Casterbridge beef are just some examples – and presented with finesse.

It was a beautiful hotel and the restaurant setting was lovely. The pre-theatre dinner menu was great though choices were limited however it did show the excellent quality of food. Service was erratic but that was due to a large event occurring at the Ballroom next door.
When the best thing about a place is the loos then you know its a problem. I think the food is pretty good but it looks like they rarely get lunch guests - we were the only table other than 1 other in 2 hours that had guests. We actually had to find the waiters - it literally took 10mins to get someone to the table to just have a drink which is the worst I've had. It just feels like the restaurant has been forgotten and its more of a hotel.....the chef must be suicidal as the food is decent.
We had lunch at 1212 and dispite the place being a little quiet the food was very good and the Toptable deal was great, would go again but perhaps in the evening.
Somewhat surprising location surrounded by government buildings off Whitehall. Nevertheless very popular and a friendly, classy spot for a pre-theatre meal. The food was excellently prepared and presented. Not brisk, but fast enough. Allow an hour and a half.
This was a fantastic deal, great food and service although for a five star hotel, the wine glasses were not removed from the table and the napkins were not put on the lap, other than that a very pleasant experience and I will certainly be back
