Formally known as the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales (CCC), the Old Bailey started life as prison before becoming one of a number of buildings housing the Crown Court.

For visitors with an interest in the day-to-day workings of the court, access to the public galleries is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Public galleries, Monday to Friday: 10am to 12.40pm and 2pm to 3.40pm.
