Toptable says about Sahara Restaurant
In London's Notting Hill you can eat food from virtually any country you care to mention. If you're in the mood for authentic Moroccan cuisine then pass beneath the colourful arches of Sahara Restaurant and into the warmth of this traditional Southern Moroccan restaurant. Bright yellow banquette seating catches the eye, as do little lanterns illuminating sandblasted walls. But it's Sahara Restaurant's food that really shines out; homemade meat, fish and vegetable tagines are cooked with real skill and affection. Moroccan dishes aren't simple; the balance of powerful spices such as cinnamon and saffron not easily achieved. The night starts well - you're served hot fresh bread with a small bowl of olive oil, marinated olives and homemade harissa - and just gets better.

Sahara in Bayswater is a good choice for those with a taste of the exotic. The food is not overpowered by killer spices, and the service is quick and attentative. Queue at the door is also a good sign - glad I pre-booked with everyone's favourite table-booking site!
Excellent food - try the cous cous! Service patchy but friendly. Definitely worth a try.
Sahara is a find! We had delicious tagines and drank Moroccan wine - a new and most enjoyable experience and something we will definately do again. Recommended.
As usual, a delicious dinner at Sahara; the best tagine I've had in London - lovely balance of flavours and good quality meat, including a whole chicken breast. I've had countless tagines elsewhere ruined by stringy chicken legs or chewy 'sheepy' lamb. Their chicken borek starter is fantastic as well. We went early for a pre-cinema dinner so it was quiet, but we'd expected that.
Sahara is a gem. traditional cooking and service from all the family members were excellent. I am Dutch and my guests were all Egyptian: we could converse in English and Arabic and ask for specific dishes. The sweet/savory Chicken pie is the best, I just kept adding to my plate. Thanks for a wonderful experience and good value for money. Even though there were only 4 of us instead of 6, this was no issue and we felt at home. Small intimate restaurant with authentic Moroccan dishes
