The Dining Room at Dukes
About The Dining Room at Dukes
Thirty Six restaurant, by Nigel Mendham, is set to become a superstar on the London restaurant scene. Located at in the stylish Dukes London hotel at no. 36 Little St James Street, this central London venue has, appropriately, 36 highly-coveted seats and a menu full of stunning modern British food with a classical twist. Having earned a Michelin star during his five years at The Samling in the Lake District, Mendham is now ready to take on the big smoke in the form of a hotly anticipated London restaurant. The menu here represents all that is best about classic and modern cuisine; expect to see dishes like Goosenargh duck with savoury granola, black cherry and almond milk, or rhubarb crumble with ginger custard and ice cream. The dining room has been newly refurbished by designer Shaun Clarkson in classic tones of black, gold and burnt orange. Clarkson is also responsible for the appealing refit of the Dukes London hotel.

Thirty Six by Nigel Mendham Menu interesting and food simply ok. We prefer the old restaurant's menu, especially desserts. Who'd have thought ordering carrot cake woud elicit four tiny squares and a tablespoon of ice cream.
What a treat this was! Thirty Six at Dukes Hotel was a delight! We wanted somewhere that could offer a traditional roast dinner one Sunday in town and Thirty six did not disapoint! The food was really superb, the staff were friendly (especially the cheese waiter - very impressive knowledge!) and the setting comfortable. As for the desserts.....! It was a good job there were three of us to sample a bit of each others, they were truely delicious. Would certainly recommend
Thirst Six (London) - This was a lovely dining experince andf rom the moment we entered we felt extremely welcome. The meal was excellent (particularly good value with toptable offer). Wine list was also good value and focussed on a select number of wines rather than going for a huge variety. Our only surprise was how quiet it was on a Saturday night. Maybe this gem has not been found by the masses yet. Would go again and again and order the turbot again which was fanstastic!
Really nice three course meal, beautifully proportioned and full of flavour. Lots of nice additional features - complimentary champagne, amuse bouche, sorbet and coffee and petit fours included, added to the experience. Service efficient and polite, environment pleasant.
Thirty Six by Nigel Mendham in London was a pleasant experience again. We would like the lunch menu to change a bit more frequently though as it was the same as we had a month ago.
