Toptable says about The Forge

A Covent Garden institution since 2007, The Forge is the brainchild of Head Chef Andy Barber and Robert Seigler (who owns local favourites Le Deuxieme and Le Café du Jardin). Hidden away among the many delights of central London, The Forge is easily missed but once inside you are welcomed into an elegant dining room featuring exposed brickwork and huge windows. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious and the restaurant is popular with theatre-goers and the after-work crowd. The menu is full of European classics like rack of lamb and steak Diane, as well as some excellent seafood dishes - we love the linguine vongole. Why not relax in the bar before dinner? The 500-strong wine list is a real treat for connoisseurs!

The food and ambience was excellent, but the service was far too slow.

I decided to treat a friend to a meal at The Forge using the TT deal. We were both very impressed by the excellent service and the lovely food. There was a lot of choice on the menu, considering it was a deal. Perhaps my only gripe would be that the veggie options for the main meals were not particularly inspired: risotto or pasta. Despite this they were still excellent dishes and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I would definitely go there again on a special occasion.

I had a lovely time at The Forge, the food was fabulous and very good value as we had the 3 courses special offer. I would definitely go back again and recommend to my friends.

We went to the Forge to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a nice enough place but generally nothing that special. Staff were friendly, but overall, even with the deal I've definitely eaten better but it is probably fair enough for that part of town.

The Forge was a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere, however most the food was overcooked which was rather disappointing. Service great though and very friendly.
