The Forge

About The Forge

Finding the slightly hidden entrance of The Forge will make you feel like a London insider. The restaurant is housed in an old church in the heart of Covent Garden. Once in the door, you’ll find an elegant space; the downstairs bar is a comfortable place for a pre-dinner drink, or you can go straight through to the dining room. With its exposed brickwork and wide windows, the main dining area is charmingly candle-lit and has a sophisticated but relaxed feel. The Forge's modern European menu is as elegant as the space; gorgeous flavours and imaginative creations inspired by Italian, French and Asian cuisine are very on-trend. The sautéed frogs legs, especially, come highly recommended. The wine list is comprised of over 500 bins so you’re sure to find something that hits the spot, plus over 40 wines are available by the glass if you fancy trying a few.

The most surprising thing at the Forge in covent garden was the portion's size....massive. Very generous, and tasty food, nicely presented. a good but expensive wine list.

The Forge, Covent Garden. This was a lovely meal, however, here's an example where the diner get's it wrong and an earlier helpful tip from Maitre d' would have made it a perfect meal. We had a bottle of champagne to begin and ordered a Chateaubriand with an expensive red to follow (a celebration meal). However, by the time we had consumed the champagne and finally got around to the Chateaubriand the wonderful dish had obviously been sitting around for awhile. Cheese - oh, dear!

First visit to the Forge but would certainly return and recommend. Food, service and ambience were all a pleasure. Daughter was delighted with prawn starter as I was with the crispy pork salad, delicious. We both had steaks which were most enjoyable as were the deserts which we shared although I forget what they were called! TT deal was just right.

Lovely evening, main of haddock tempura was crispy and light, fish cake was divine. Crème brulee with a perfectly crisp shell. Service was attentive. All round another very enjoyable evening spent at The Forge - have been before and will most defiantly be going again. Thanks!
