You'd be forgiven for feeling like you'd been transported to Soho once through the door and onto the glass floor of this very hot restaurant lighting up Bath Road. Prettily lit walls - one covered in a lovely graphic frame a modernist space where cheeky red designer seats sit around clear Perspex tables. Style comes in spades at Mantra, not least the presentation which the kitchen take up to five minutes perfecting, apparently. There's a wealth of exotic dishes to choose from, and everyone always loves the chef's special, tandoori bateyr quails marinated in green chillies, mint coriander and lime juice, glazed in the tandoor and served with masala fries.

Overall the food was very good. Whilst the servers try and make it a fine dining experience, they fail on a few aspects. My wife had a dirty fork and they open the napin and lay it on your lap which I found uncomfortable. All the dishes were great except the chaat which was ok. The only reason I did not give 9+ was the fact that you can get better for less in Southall and the surrounding areas. Whilst this restaurant tries to be chic and trendy, I felt it fell short and seemed tacky.
Mantra Hounslow West- very chic interior, with fancy toilets. There is a bar/lounge area where you can have a drink and snacks. There is also a formal dining area both of which are very well presented. Service was great and so was the food. The 15% toptable discount makes it a winner! I would recommend the 'gobi chilli'.

Mantra in hounslow was lovely. Tasty, modern Indian. Great value. Great service.
More style than substance. Food was mediocre. Paneer tikka and gobi chilli fry were probably the tastiest. We had to send the prawn curry back- absolutely awful texture and taste. Had to wait far too long for drinks order to be taken and in between courses. No one asked if food was OK, waiter only approached us at the end of our meal when we got his attention in order to return prawns. We had a great time as company and ambience was fantastic- food and service a real let down. Will not return.
