In the case of Marquis, the answer is 'just about everything'. The modern, minimalist decor is both comfortable and stylish. The welcome of the staff couldn't be warmer or more genuine. The menu - modern European, with major Italian influences - uses excellent ingredients that bring vigorous, hearty flavours. Oh, and it's family-run (the founder's son is chef). The seasonally-changing menu features classic dishes like osso bucco alla milanese with saffron risotto, or simple grilled fillet of beef with rucola. Great wine list too. Perfect for busines lunches or cozy, intimate dinners.

Serafino is a staple of Mayfair for business lunches and I always like to go. The food is excellent and the service warm and welcoming. Serafino deserves its reputation!
Serafino is a high quality, friendly Italian in the heart of Mayfair. Attentive staff, excellent food that was simply designed, but excellently executed. My friend's liver was as pink as requested, and my chicken was well seasoned, without losing the flavour of the meat. Prices are average for Mayfair (the wine list maybe reflects the location more) but overall felt justified because of the quality of the experience.
