We were very pleased with our lunch at the Athenaeum! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and polite, really excellent service. Amazing value for the price, the food was very well cooked we especially enjoyed the scallops! I was so impressed I have already booked again for an evening meal to sample the dinner menu.
I was extremely happy with my food, however the vegetarians suggested that the soup was average as was the rissotto. I would definately go again.

The food was great - really good choice on the set menu and excellent value for money.
Good atmosphere in the restaurant, especially a little later on in the evening when more guests arrived.
One very minor point was that the starters, though packed with flavour where a little on the small side. Having said that, by the end of the evening we'd had more than enough so it balanced itslef out!
Had a great meal at Athenaeum on Tues night. The food was fantastic, and although my pork belly was
slightly overcooked every course tasted amazing. The restaurant wasn't busy but still had a nice ambience to it, and the service was attentive but not rushed. The top table deal offering 3 courses and a glass of champagne is simply superb value - would defintely return.
