35 at The Hempel is tucked away in a minimalist hotel in a quiet neighbourhood of Bayswater. Mushroom consomme had bags of flavour. Only complaint would be wish there had been more of it. Both the mains of seabass and cornish skate were exquisitely flavoured and cooked to perfection. Service was faultless. Minor grips: The wine list by the glass was a bit limited and was told there was a 2-hr turnaround time on arrival. Luckily it wasn't a special occasion then!

No. 35 at The Hempel is a hidden gem. As you walk in there is a sunken seating area with fireplace where you can start off with a glass of wine. The restaurant atmosphere isnt great but the food was incredible! We did a tasting menu and everything was superb. I would highly recommend this venue!

Had a great dinner at No.35 at The Hempel lastnight. Enjoyed every dish, from the lovely 'amuse bouche' of seared salmon, rocket puree and parmesan foam, to a crab ravioli and then a fab butternut squash risotto. Wide wine list and the cheaper Shiraz we chose was very good. Simple, beautiful design in this hotel makes for an un-fussy, calm atmosphere to chat in. The very minor let-down was having to wait for the bill & coats - service was very attentive & friendly otherwise. Will go back!

We dined at No 35 at The Hemple on Monday evening. Once we had found the hotel we were very impressed. Great ambience and decor, pleasant staff, delicious food and a good choice of wine. All this and only 10 minutes walk from Paddington which makes it very convenient for catching the train home.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, service could be a little bit sharper - especially when you are matching wines with courses (no use the wine turning up after we have finished the course).
