Toptable says about The Larder

The Larder, located in trendy Clerkenwell, is truly a foodie haven consisting of a restaurant, a bakery, a bar and a take-away shop under one roof. Housed in a building dating back to 1897 which was built for

grocer's Lovell and Christmas, The Larder is true to its roots offering an abundance of fresh, quality food. Owner/Chef Nick Male (former executive chef for Conran) serves up a monthly-changing menu featuring sensational dishes like Slow-roasted belly pork, grilled king scallops & French black pudding or a simply stunning Devon crab for starter. Puddings and pastries are a treat. The laid-back bar provides a stylish sanctuary for drinkers who fancy a cocktail, wine from the extensive list or 40 a gin available from London's largest collection.

The Larder had a great atmosphere for a Friday evening busy but not too loud. Food was great really loved the crab and the pork belly with scallops and black pudding. Great for food with a group of friends

The fish and chips was magnificent and the Aussie waitress allowed me to swap it for shoe string fries. My friends ordered the sword fish which they said was ok. For dessert again, the Aussie waitress was very kind to accommodate the cheese selection.

The Larder has a strong menu. My tuna was excellent and the fish and chips are extremely large. Excellent value with the 50% off deal

Ate there on the top table deal last night. Really good food and great service - waitress was able to change one of the veggies that came with the dish for something different at no extra cost - and think it was a hassle. So much appreciated. Wine was quite expensive (though delicious) by the glass.
