Ayoush
About Ayoush
Fantastically fun and buzzy high-quality North African restaurant / bar with casbah-style decor and differently themed North African 'caves' downstairs. The food is French-African with the emphasis on North African and the odd Berber and Jewish Moroccan influence thrown in for good measure. Not somewhere to take your Great Aunt Gertie (unless she's a real party animal), but a fab spot for a night out with your pals or a romantic dinner with your main squeeze. What's cooking? Tabouleh, falafel, hummus, sambousek, merguez, stuffed calamari, shawarma, kebabs, tagines, couscous, sea bass and salmon.

Enjoyed the welcome and the food on a very cold eve. Will def be returning
Nice restaurant in great location and very busy and buzzy. We were upstairs which was nice and light and airy but the bar/restaurant downstairs also sounded like great fun. There are a number of set menus that give you a wide range of choices which look interesting although we chose from the a la carte. £33 per head for 4 people with 4 starters, 4 mains and 2 bottles of lebanese wine (which I must say was very good and good value at £16.50 a bottle). Will definitely be back.
Ayoush (on the corner of Wigmore and St James's St) is a lovely place to visit, open late and with a warm welcome. Service is outstandingly friendly, and food very enjoyable. For those who like live music (loud) and belly-dancing, downstairs is the place to be; for those who want to relax and talk, upstairs. And it's worth trying the banana juice - delicious!
I have enjoyed our dinner very much, the food was nice and tasty and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service
The lamb tagine was delicious BUT we were offered mint tea to complete the meal which turned out to cost £3.50 for a tiny glass! We complained but that was ignored so definitely won't go back or recommend.
