Charlton House

Charlton House is a beautiful Grade 1 listed Jacobean Manor House, situated in South East London. Most of its original features are still preserved throughout the house, including excellent fireplaces, ceilings, doors and the recently restored Old Staircase. It is the ideal venue for wedding receptions, parties, conferences and is home to a wide variety of community groups. In addition the newly planted Walled and Sensory gardens are the ideal place for quiet contemplation all year around. Guided tours can be arranged for groups in advance. A cafe is open on weekdays.

  1. Peace Garden Special event

     

    Recurring event

    Visit Charlton House and enjoy the serenity of the Peace Garden, a project which followed on from Amnesty International's Stop Domestic Violence Against Women campaign. This tranquil area has great support from the local community and is planted with a variety of shrubs and flowers.

    A large open park, boasting Charlton House, one of the finest examples of Jacobean architecture. Also includes a Japanese style herb garden, two walled gardens, one of which is formally designated a Peace Garden, and a formal vista.
