Aniseed in London's Canary Wharf - a nice calm Indian restaurant with great curry! No need to suffer the roughness of Bric Lane any more - If you are local to Isle of Dogs just pop around the corner to Aniseed!
An average local curry place. Nothing really stood out, except that it was really local for us. The garlic naan could have been straight from the supermarket and heated in a microwave. Would not recommend unless desperate for Indian food.
Service nice but slow. Food was ok, nice place for visiting once but not sure if we'd go back again.
Visited Aniseed in Docklands on a Wednesday lunchtime in January, so the place was very quiet. Just 10 min from the bustle of Canary Wharf, and a good place to have a quiet business meeting. The food was good, standard indian fare - nice crispy poppodoms and naan, the dishes were well cooked and tasty. The jalfrezi was fresh and well-seasoned, with very hot whole green chillis. Good value for the area and friendly, polite staff. Will go again.
Came for an early Sunday evening dinner at 6.30. Place was deserted but filled up rather nicely an hour or so later. Service was efficient and not the usual Brick Lane overbearing waiters or subject to the ''sausage machine factory'' treatment. Also found the food a notch above its peers. The menu concise, the portions erring on the too small side but actually just fine. We opted for some mild curries for a change and was deeply impressed on the freshness and flavours of it all. Highly recommend
