Light Café
About Light Café
If you’re passionate about the simple pleasure of good food Wimbledon’s, The Light Café is likely to be making its way on to your favourites list pretty soon. Opened in 2010, The Light Café quickly earned a reputation as a local foodie hub, the sort of place you won’t be ashamed to eat breakfast at and then pop back later for supper, the sort of place where you’ll spend leisurely Sundays over brunch and the papers, and the sort of place that you’ll keep coming back to year after year. A cosmopolitan hive of laid back activity, The Light Café could be in any European city – Paris, Berlin, Madrid – such is its chic exposed brick and dove grey panelled interior with daily specials written in neatly casual hand on blackboards, oversized mirrors and contemporary monochrome photographic prints propped against walls. The family friendly Light Café provides something for everybody from full English breakfasts to full a la carte bistro dinners, scrumptious afternoon teas and colourful cupcakes for the kids. The one thing every dish has in common here is that it’s made with attention to detail and a close eye on seasonality and freshness, with even the children’s menu freshly and creatively prepared.

We went to Light Cafe in Wimbledon Village with friends to show them the restaurant and we had a lovely evening with lovely food and company. It was the first time we went in the evening and the ambience was lovely.
The Light Cafe is an informal, relaxed venue offering good food, friendly customer service in a warm ambience. Would definitely return again when next in Wimbledon.
Light Cafe is exactly what I've been looking for in London. Incredible food, candle light and excellent friendly service. A great night out!
The Light Cafe in Wimbledon is a very nice newish cafe associated with the well know 'Lighthouse' restaurant in Wimbledon. The menu is varied with fresh high quality produce. The 'in house' marinated herring was delicious as were the fish cakes. The steak was appropriately cooked, tasty and tender. Would certainly recommend and go again. Wimbledon needs places like this.
Visited the Light Cafe in Wimbledon Village on Friday night for dinner. Nice and cosy atmosphere though it does get a little loud when it gets busy. The food was very nice and cam on time, the service is efficient and non-intrusive. Picked from the set menu and although there are only 3 choices for each course finding something is not a problem. This place is not pretentious and, even better, it doesn't try to be! A perfect little brother of the Light Restaurant, will definitely return.
