Chutney Raj

About Chutney Raj

Chutney Raj restaurant in London is the only Central London restaurant specializing in Bengali/Bangladeshi fish dishes. With roopchanda, bowal, ayre and bas flown in fresh from the East, the chefs create the sort of authentic dishes that bring tears to the eyes of émigrés. It’s a small eaterie that seems unassuming in its bright décor and friendly, casual ambience. But high-fliers from the inns of court and ITN across the street fill the place, as does Archbishop Desmond Tutu whenever he’s in town. Great lunch specials, as well as an extensive menu of old and new favourites.

The onion dish I chose at Chutney Raj was far too onioney! The rice also had too much onion in it. I probably chose the wrong things, as I normally enjoy my meals there. Next time I shall chose something else.

Visited the Chutney Raj in Grays Inn Road last night with four work colleagues - good food, excellent service and a very pleasant atmosphere for an after office meal. Recommended.

Chutney Raj - London Cute little place, liked the ambience with the soft Indian music in the background and the food was yummy (loved how the curries and bhajis were served sitting on another bowl that had a candle to keep the food warm). Also reasonable priced and a warm serviette is given when you've finished your meal.

I booked this restaurant for my Boss and one of my Clients to meet, mainly on the rrecommendation that Chutney Raj is Bishop Desmond Tutu's "favorite London restaurant" ;) Feed back from both was terrific, so thank you CR.

Had a quick supper at Chutney Raj before a concert. Food was enjoyable, and the service attentive. Would recommend.
