City Spice

About City Spice

City Spice is a little Indian restaurant with a charismatic wood-panelled shop front wedged along New Bridge Street in Blackfriars. An old-school haunt with city types, locals and the occasional tourist, City Spice has become a bit of a neighbourhood institution and the restaurant is famous for its classic curries, fast service and hole-in-the-wall vibe. The staff are happy to accommodate large groups and the restaurant is a cosy place for casual celebrations, lunchtime get-togethers and work dinners. Only minutes away from Blackfriars tube station, City Spice has an unpretentious menu which includes signature dishes such as the tandoori king prawn tikka masala, the saag prawns and the lamb rogan josh.

Been to City Spice on Farringdon Rd a couple of times. Most recently was early eve and not many punters. Less ambience, but food was good and service remained attentive. Above average curry house (with slightly above average prices - but its worth it)

We found City Spice perfect for our staff team dinner. Fantastic food and great service.

We visited City Spice on 18 November, just past Blackfriars Bridge. The meal was very nice, although a few of the attendees noted that the price was higher than expected, as was I. For lunch it was £16.50 per head (most of us only had one course plus rice or naan and soft drinks!). The service was also quite slow, but if you went for dinner you probably wouldn't mind. Overall a nice meal however.
