The Idle Hour

About The Idle Hour

The younger sister to the multi award-winning pub of the same name in Barnes, The Idle Hour in London’s Barons Court is a stylish, spacious and modern bar and restaurant providing quality, organic gastro pub food at neighborhood prices. Down-to-earth and welcoming, the restaurant is designed to encourage you to idle away an afternoon or evening over good food, organic wines and well kept beers and ales. With its array of wrong-time-telling clocks and abundance of natural light, fresh flowers and candles, The Idle Hour has a kooky, relaxed aesthetic and you’ll love the convertible roof which is perfect for balmy summer nights. Free wi-fi makes this a smart choice for business meetings, and the function room atop a glass-balustraded staircase is popular for parties and private dining. Renowned for its friendly service, The Idle Hour is a splendid local London gem - don’t miss the Alaskan king crab, organic burgers and Sunday roasts.

We've lived down the road from The Idle Hour but never ventured in until this week for Sunday lunch, we shall certainly be back as the food was simply fantastic. The service from our waitress could have done with some serious improvement but other staff were faultless. Again, must stress just how good their food is & the ambience gets a hearty 8 from us. Recommended.

The restaurant itself is not located in the best part of town but once you're in there the area matters no more. the manager Janga is a brilliant host and as friendly as they come, making us feel at home in a unfamiliar city. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing and worth every penny (not particularly expensive either). I would definately recomend to anyone visiting the area as the experience made our weekend.
