The Pembroke
About The Pembroke
Located on the Old Brompton Road, The Pembroke is an established gastropub only five minutes away from the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre. Formerly The Colehorne – a landmark gay pub - The Pembroke has undergone an extensive refurbishment and the dining room is filled with chandeliers, retro wallpaper, framed vintage prints and chalkboard menus. A favourite neighbourhood haunt for creative types and local business folk, The Pembroke is suitable for working lunches, Sunday sessions and get-togethers with friends. The kitchen boasts a stellar British menu and favourites from the restaurants kitchen include the tempura-battered squid with smoked paprika aioli; the pan-roasted lamb rump with a winter vegetable ratatouille and mint jus; and the sweet custard tart with poached prunes for pudding.

The Pembroke in Earl's Court was very good all round. They seem to have, thankfully, dropped the food prices somewhat from when it first opened (following its transformation from the Coleherne) and it is now reasonable value.
The Pembroke in Earls Court - great as always!!!
Sunday roast way below par (eaten there >100 times since it opened, mostly Sunday evenings) - roast potatoes/parsnip barely warm, pre-cooked Yorkshire's just taken out of a holding tin and placed on plate (i.e. always stone cold), and what was the deal with the sweet red cabbage last night? The beef is cooked rare in a roll, then sliced to order and finished in a pan if wanted medium well, but the bringing together of all the prepped food and pre-roasted things only works if it ends up hot.
Friendly staff and decent service, but my tuna steak was a bit dry.
