Comptoir Gascon

About Comptoir Gascon

Comptoir Gascon restaurant, found in bustling Charterhouse Street in the City of London’s Farringdon, is a French foodie’s paradise. This award-winning gourmet bistro/delicatessen specialises in food and wine exclusively from the South-West of France, and boasts a stunning menu that includes French classic cuisine like homemade charcuterie, rabbit with mustard sauce and tagliatelle, dreamy French fries cooked in duck fat and a sensational selection of foie gras, all of which have helped them earn a Bib Gourmand. In fact, duck is a special focus of the Comptoir Gascon menu, including cassoulet Toulousain. The wine list is also superb. Located near the Smithfield and Exmouth markets, Comptoir Gascon is relaxed with wooden floors and chic blue chairs – the perfect restaurant for business lunches or an informal and intimate dinner with friends. For southwestern French cuisine in a cosy, romantic restaurant, Comptoir Gascon is the place to be.

Very relaxed yet elegant venue - food was much better last time I went but I was overall happy with our meal

This place is a little gem! The food was absolutely incredible. I had the Popcorn Foie Gras as a starter and the Duck burger as my main. Duck burger I hear you say? Yes and it was possibly the best burger I have ever tasted. A clever twist on a classic. You can have the burger with Foie Gras which makes it that much more sumptuous. My friend ordered the piggy treats and the Duck burger. The wine selection is fantastic and the service second to none! It is my new favourite restaurant in London!

My husband and I enjoyed a really nice meal on Wednesday night at Comptoir Gascon. The service was good, the atmosphere just right for an informal but romantic meal and the food was super tasty. Plus it was good value for money. I would definitely recommend!

The menu's changed and seems more limited, but what there is is fabulous. Never ever pass on the French fries! Yet to disappoint. And the service is guaranteed to make you feel special and cared for.
