About Crossness Engines

Grade 1 Listed, 1865 waste-water pumping station built by Sir Joseph Bazalgette in Victorian Romanesque style, containing much ornamental cast-iron of outstanding quality. The building houses the largest rotative beam engines in the world, (one being restored). The attached boiler-house houses a visitor centre.

Facilities

Opening Times Booking line: Tues or Sun between 9.30am and 4.00pm. Most visit times begin @1.30, though this is different for public steaming days which are 10.00-16.30 Different fees apply for regular visits or steaming day visits Children under the age of 8 are not admitted
