We had dinner with friends at Da Paolo in London - very cosy, if a little cramped, on the ground floor. The deal was excellent value for money - 3 courses and a glass of prosecco (or wine) - however, after our initial drinks they didn't offer us any more! Food was excellent and came in good-sized portions. The dessert menu (part of the fixed deal) was very limited - only 3 choices, and a bit confusing. Staff were efficient but not overly friendly. Very quiet for a Friday night. Overall, not bad!

This was my 4th or 5th time at Da Paolo over a 7 year period. I went a couple of times around 2005 and didnt enjoy it (due to service issues not the food) and didnt go back but I went again recently and had a good evening so decided to go with the wife and another couple for a night out. In summary: Food Good Wine Good Service ok Being seated in the basement - disappointing No Ginger Ale or Lime for drinks - disappointing trying to make the 12.5% service charge non-discretionary v v bad
Excellent night out with family and friends. Great food and value. Good old fashioned Trattoria.
on our last visit this was a nice friendly place but it was spoiled this time by a very grumpy reaction when i asked for a chipped and dirty glass to be replaced.
