Texture

About Texture

Texture in London's Marylebone, is a stunning collaboration between the superbly talented Agnar Sverrisson, a top Icelandic chef, and Xavier Rousset, a French-born award-winning sommelier. After working together at Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons, Sverrisson and Rousset joined forces to launch this exquisite offering in Portman Street, in London's West End. Texture's interior, like its menu, is a study of European modernity infused with Nordic style. With white and sage green walls, blond wooden floors and caramel coloured banquettes, the dining room at Texture is elegant yet unpretentious. Signature dishes include the chargrilled Anjou Pigeon and pan-roasted Icelandic cod with avocado purée and chorizo. Texture's chic Champagne bar is ideal for sampling Rousset's extraordinary wine list.

A wonderfull place to relax and dine

The London restaurant world has some of the nicest and some of the rudest people in it. Texture has exclusively the first kind and, on our umpteenth visit, standards seemed higher than ever. It is a tribute to Aggi's cooking that I actually not just ate, but enjoyed the way he introduced cucumber into the meal, normally a vegetable I eschew as far as possible. I do not understand why there should ever be an empty table here...

We went to Texture for Christmas lunch after it was recommended to us. Food and presentation was just amazing. It is expensive if you go a’la carte but it is an excellent place if you want to treat yourself for a special occasion also the fixed menu is a steal (3 courses for £24). The décor is comfortable and elegant. The service was good but a bit slow, they also forgot about our aperitif

This is one of my favourite place for lunch as the lunch menu is excellent value for money (although limited choice). Food was very high quality as usual and service is impeccable. I strongly recommend coffee with petit fours after the meal. I will definitely go again.
