Benugo Bar and Kitchen
About Benugo Bar and Kitchen
The Benugo Bar & Kitchen at the BFI Southbank in London provides film-goers and visitors to the area with an absolutely superb restaurant that changes over the course of the day. During the sunlight hours, coffee, sandwiches, salads and desserts are the mainstay of the menu and diners linger long taking advantage of the free wifi. But in the evening the lighting changes, the very cool bar with its expert mixologists comes into its own, the live music or DJs show their colours and the menu limbers up. As with other Benugo restaurants, the mainstay of the menu is British classics freshly created from fine ingredients with an added twist or innovation, like stew of lamb shank with ricotta dumplings. The wine list tends toward the affordable, but it too shows that care has been taken in its selection. Smart design and comfort show themselves in the slouchy sofas, long, low tables positioned for good views. The classic Sunday lunch makes Benugo Bar & Kitchen one of London’s best bets for Sunday loafing.

My first visit to Benugo and it was very busy but our waitress was very attentive and relieved when we said we weren't in a rush! The Rissottos had to be sent back as they were cold and then they had no parsnip chips which was a disappointment. Also the Manager said he had been dragged over to deal with our complaint which was not the best approach!
I never know whether Benugo is going to be crowded or quiet. This time it was quiet and the staff were a bit easier to get hold of. Food is good. Water with your meal comes automatically. Choice of seating - formal or less so. Useful position for South Bank events.
Benugo Bar London, we both had the fantastic pumpkin rissotto with crispy parsnip slices. Relaxing and stylish venue with lost of natural light at lunchtime. Price seemed to have gone up this year or maybe it was the lack of somthing lighter on the lunch menu.
Predictable british menu with little surprises, Food well cooked and definitely a better option than the chain restaurants on the Southbank, Service was slow despite place being fully booked.
Nice and relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and good food
