Geales Restaurant

About Geales Restaurant

Established way back in 1939, Geales Restaurant has long been a favourite among the discerning folk of Notting Hill. It's no surprise that the neighbourhood is so devoted to the fish and chip favourite, this is the local chippie given a gourmet twist. Mark Fuller and Andy Taylor, the team behind renowned establishments Embassy and Sanctum on the Green have restored Geales to its former glory with a wonderfully traditional yet elegant makeover in sleek, stylish monochrome, courtesy of designer Zena Prawl. The menu maintains that simple fish and chip shop mentality - good, no frills food and excellent service - adding a modern restaurant feel to the mix with extra kitchen creativity.

Very nice place on the poshy side, but affordable. The fish and chips was really delicious. The ambience is elegant and cozy. Service premurous.

Geales, London W8 lived up to its usual high standards. Outstanding fish courses are the norm. We particularly like the 'lite bites' and the soft shell crab starters. Highly recommended - one of our regular haunts.

This return visit to Geales in London W8 was an enjoyable occasion. One of my lunch companions informed me that this had been George Best's favourite fish restaurant. Football clearly wasn't the only thing on which the lad was an expert.

Nice relaxed meal at Geales. Large portions and tasty haddock and salmon mains. Gutted I didn't have the fish pie as it looked fab. wouldve liked a few moreside dish options, mainly potato- based ones. Would recommend as a lovely setting for some casual dining

Disappointing. My third time there and actually quite different. The salads/starters still good but the fish was in several layers of batter....too thick and sludgy on the inside. My sole was very overcooked. Seemed like fish had been either cooked/rewarmed or cooked twice.
