Golden Oven

About Golden Oven

Situated on Bateman Street in the heart of the West End, the Golden Oven is ideal for long lunches and pre-theatre dinners – especially if you’re a fan of authentic Indian food. The emphasis is on fresh spices and traditional recipes so you can be sure the dishes taste just as they would in India. The restaurant itself is relaxed and unpretentious, with friendly staff to guide diners through the extensive menu. Classics like lamb karahi and chicken madras are done very well here, but we recommend trying one of the chef’s signature dishes. Try the garlic chilli chicken if you like your food hot and spicy, or go for a thali if you want to try a little bit of everything.

Golden Oven, W1D 3AL. Usually indian restuarants in Soho are over priced and rubbish. Not the Golden Oven. Great food and atmosphere. There were 5 of us and our food arrived without any delay and we all had a great meal. Quite a small resturant so book in advance if you can. Staff were really friendly with hellos and thank yous and all polite and attentative. Will definitely try and go again when in Soho.

The service and food was amazing! We were running late and trying to make the theater. The staff helped us select options from the menu and was very fast with the order. The food was outstanding, the best Indian food we've had in the US. We'll definitely go back if in London again. Highly recommend this small and personable restaurant!

My Chicken Dansak was tasty, though not as hot as I prefer. Service attentive.

We booked through Top Table for this delightful intimate little restaurant after finding it on the Time Out website. We had a great time, as the service was excellent , the manager was helpful and friendly , the food was very good- I recommend the sizzling dish which kept my tandoori lamb nice and hot and we were there for two hours enjoying the good vibes (its small so it filled up nicely) .We will definitely go there again as it is right in the hub of things with very reasonable prices indeed
