Dolcetto

About Dolcetto

Often when one thinks of Islington the vision of the perfect boho little neighbourhood springs to mind, the ideal setting for a restaurant like Dolcetto. Literally translated as ‘small sweet one’, Dolcetto is exactly that – a cosy and appealing little stop where Italian tradition meets London life. Located just a minute or two walk from Angel, on Chapel Market, Dolcetto is marked out by its fresh and clean white and glass frontage, a glimpse in to the bustling interior with its simple modern-rustic combination of scrubbed wood and exposed brick. Food is prepared right before your eyes at Dolcetto, pizzas tossed and sauces stirred in an open kitchen at the rear of the restaurant. Here are prepared the delicious menu items that are the real stars of Dolcetto – the sumptuous pasta dishes, crisply authentic pizzas and countryside inspired meat dishes too. The chefs infuse classic Italian cookery with a little contemporary style and inventiveness to give Italian food lovers the sweetest thrill while very affordable, select Italian wines relax the mind and body to trattoria pace after another hectic London day.

We were a little concerned when we arrived at Dolcetto in Islington as it was empty however it was only 7pm on a Friday night and we were soon suurounded by happy diners. The food was amazingly good and such good value. The service was a little slow at times but certainly wasn't bad. I would go back any time.

Dolectto, Islington. 4 of us had an early dinner there on a Sat night. 3 of us had the grilled seabass. Very lovely and fresh. Service was a bit up and down, but we all enjoyed our meal. We were right in front of the kitchen and felt incredibly hot with the heat coming from the ovens etc, luckily it was a very cold day! We didn't end up taking the 2 course special with Prosecco, don't think based on the prices the special deal was that special! Prices are reasonable though so it's ok!

We had a really nice meal using the toptable deal at Dolcetta in Angel. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but there were a few tables full by the time we left. The food was actually very good and service was speedy. I hadn't even seen the restaurant before so I would definitely return if I was in the area or saw the toptable deal again.

We jumped into Dolcetto for a pre theatre before heading to Sadlers Wells. The service was very quick and the food was delicious.
