Close to Highgate tube, leading up to Muswell Hill, are two surviving areas of the once Great Forest of Middlesex. Highgate Wood is a wonderful deciduous patch of woodland that has a rather magical patch of greenery in the middle that boasts a nice café, a cricket pitch and a football pitch.
