Chor Bizarre

About Chor Bizarre

The London branch of a New Delhi institution, Albemarle Street’s Chor Bizarre’s reputation precedes it. This is a restaurant that has to be experienced at least once. Capturing the spirit of the thieves’ market, this unique space is furnished with pieces collected from marketplaces across India, from four poster beds to thrones and swathes of jewel coloured velvet. Equally resplendent is the menu, earning the Cobra Curry Guide’s Best UK North Indian Restaurant title, a delicious journey through traditional Indian kitchens. Indeed Chor Bizarre is one of the only places outside Kashmir with access to the closely guarded secrets of the 36 course Wazwan feast.

Excellent all round! Good service, lovely atmosphere and great food. We all had the non-veg Thali which is a great meal for those not used to indian food. Only point of criticism is that the Thali is excluded from offers/discounts.

Chor Bazaar'st ambience is warm and the tables are well spaced out. The quality of the food was very good, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian , with some unusual traditional dishes from India. The service was mixed and pushy and gave the impression that they wanted to get us out quickly and, in fact, our main course was delivered at the same time as the first course was cleared. Our three course meal plus a medium priced wine bottle cost about £50/head after the 30% Toptable discount.

Nice decor, atmosphere and service, food was good although not as spectacular as I was hoping given other reviews.

This was our third trip to Chor Bizarre and enjoyed ourselves as usual. Generally, the food is fantastic and this time the tikka paneer and asparagus, corn and brocolli mix were especially tasty. However, a note on the level of spice... the menu rated the aloo methi gobi as slighty spicy, but I bit into 3 green chillis one after the other which was actually really unpleasant because I actually couldn't taste the rest of my meal. So check with your waiter how hot the dishes will actually be!

Chor Bizarre London Went here for lunch with 2 friends. I've eaten here a few times but it was their first and they were very impressed with the food. The 30% discount really helps as most chicken dishes are £14 plus.
