Toptable says about St Alban
Situated in London's West End, in close proximity to theatre-land, St Alban restaurant has gathered an impressive array of admirers during its tenure on lower Regent Street. Food critics such as Michael Winner, AA Gill and Matthew Norman commended the impeccable service and contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. Many customers are drawn by the outstanding original art on the walls commissioned from luminaries Damien Hirst and Michael Craig-Martin. Equipped with an in-house charcoal grill and wood-fired oven, dishes such as the seafood and chicken paella, which has become a signature dish, and charcoal-grilled mixed fish of the day with samphire and slow-roasted Norfolk black pig with honey-glazed carrots are long-standing favourites. For dessert bitter chocolate tart with milk ice cream should not be missed!

One of the best restaurants I have been to. Food and service is fantastic. I would recommended St Albans to anyone.
I took my parents and sister to St Alban for a pre-theatre meal. We were hugely impressed by the food, decor and standard of service. We we able to choose good wine without breaking the bank and the set menu represents excellent value. At the same time, there was no skimping on service or the other nice extras that you get in a top end restaurant
Very noisy and the food was carelessly presented
Buzzy atmosphere with a modern, bright decor. The banquettes were comfortable with good acoustics. Food was well cooked; sardines were very fresh and not overwhelmed by the gremolata. My scallops & pancetta were flavoursome though not many served for the £23 price tag! Tiramisu and mint tea were superb . Good choice of wines suggested by sommelier. Felt service was a bit sloppy though - plates thrown on the table rather than placed but all very efficient.
A serendipitous find on my first attempt on Toptable for my boyfriend's birthday. Not the cheapest meal ever, once we'd both had 3 courses, a rather nice (& nicley priced) bottle of wine and coffee, but well worth it. Very attentive service and knowledgeable staff (we changed our mind about what main course to have so needed some advice on which wine would be best). Would recommend the restaurant and will remember it for future visits.
