Passing by during evening service you’ll be greeted by the sight of happy customers bathed in soft yellow candlelight behind the glass frontage, a tempting sight indeed and all the recommendation you should really need to make a booking – and soon. Inside, modern art from local artists line the walls while a large blackboard details the many specials being daily created in the Isola del Sole kitchen. Fresh, healthy Sardinian ingredients are the stars of the show in every dish – plump juicy tomatoes, soft mozzarella, fragrant garlic and verdant, flavoursome basil amongst them – making for glorious home style food reminiscent of those familiar Italian favourites but with a distinctly singular flavour. While mains, pastas, meat and fish alike, are hearty but sophisticated, desserts are utterly sumptuous and the wine list is temptingly well put together featuring predominantly Sardinian labels.

Lovely homemade food at reasonable prices. Freshly made pasta and great breads too!
As always, the food and wine were very good. They alway seem a bit hurried/understaffed for a weekend night, but as long as you aren't in a hurry, it's a great local restaurant. The stacked aubergine and mozzarella starter is excellent.
The Isola del Sole in putney seems like a nice restaurant
If you are looking for a cosy little Italian restaurant serving great food this is the place for you. It has a heavy Sardinian slant and serves dishes that are not 'standard' Italian fare - you won't see spag bol on the menu here. The home made pasta is superb, I had parpadelle in a quail and red wine sause - really good.
Isola del sole is a lovely little Sardinian restaurant on Lacy Road. They do home made pasta on the premises. The atmosphere is quite intimate and the food was excellent. The seafood was particularly good. The only downside was that the service was a little slow but with a bottle of wine, you don't really notice it. Will definitely be back.
